The qualitative approach of textual analysis was used to reveal the student teachers&#8217; perspectives and experiences using Scratch as a technology medium for subject learning. 84 student teachers from the module\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LED250 Creative Arts in Education<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0participated in the study, with 52 from year 1 and 32 from year 3; 9 males and 75 females. Each 2 student teachers paired up as a group to create a Scratch programme. A total of 43 Scratch programmes, 43 related lesson plans, and 84 student teachers&#8217; reflections were collected. The textual analysis was conducted with a thematic approach. Results showed that (i) Games and animation were the most popular teaching tools; and (ii) Kindergarten level focuses on\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">self-protection<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and primary level focuses on\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puberty.<\/span><\/i><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The findings from the study revealed that student teachers supported digital media teaching and learning when sufficient time, sources and technical supports were in place. They believed that technology could make learning experiences more interesting and useful (as the students can keep trying until success).
