{"id":12098,"date":"2021-04-27T08:33:21","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T08:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/en\/?post_type=person&#038;p=12098"},"modified":"2021-08-11T05:09:15","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T05:09:15","slug":"chris-forlin","status":"publish","type":"person","link":"https:\/\/dlcre.usj.edu.mo\/en\/about\/people\/chris-forlin\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris Forlin"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p><em>&#8220;My research and publications focus on equity and diversity; change paradigms in education; education policy and practice; along with curricula and pedagogy for teacher education, with innovative research in working with systems, governments, and schools to establish sustainable inclusive education. <\/em><em>I provide leadership in research in education reform for special and inclusive education in the Asia-Pacific region and have widespread extensive international experience. I have been involved in many research projects. <\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Major recent research consults include appointed as an expert panel member and research project coordinator for the Review the level of funding for education adjustment provided by approved system authorities to member schools for students with disabilities, Australian National Schools Resourcing Board (NSRB), Department of Education &amp; Training Australian Government, 2019; upgrading the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability Portal (2018); preparing policy and guidelines guides for Catholic Education, Victoria, for student acceleration and student retention (October 2020); Research and Development of Resource Guides for Principle of Inclusion Child Safety (2018); and the development of Best Practice Models for Students with Significantly Complex and Challenging Behaviours and Students with Very Low Academic Functionality, Highly Complex Health and or Physical Difficulties (2017). <\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>From 2013-2016, I was co-investigator for a very large AusAID Development Research Awards Scheme project on Developing and Testing Indicators for Inclusive Education in the Pacific Islands. Underpinned <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by a constructionist epistemology t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hrough interviews with the presentism of educators involved in Western Australian education for learners with disability, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">viewed through an interpretivist lens<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, major elements of change are identified. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, document analysis of key policies and legislation are undertaken.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> An analytical framework deduced from the work of Rawls is used to reflect upon the changes to discuss the degree that Rawls\u2019 justice as fairness has been enacted in education for learners with disability from 1970 to 2021 in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;My research and publications focus on equity and diversity; change paradigms in education; education policy and practice; along with curricula and pedagogy for teacher education, with innovative research in working with systems, governments, and schools to establish sustainable inclusive education.
